Rebecca Chea

BACHELOR OF BUSINESS AND LAW

For a better Techy, Vote for Becky

My name is Rebecca Chea and I am running to be a Student director for the ActivateUTS Board. I am in my 3rd year of a Bachelor of Business and Law degree.
With your vote, I will enrich the UTS community by voicing the concerns of UTS students and other faculty members. My aim is to place students at the forefront of every decision made by both ActivateUTS and the University.
A policy I plan to introduce is an enhanced study space, by implementing more tables across campus (targeting areas such as the library) to eliminate students being deprived of a place to study.
For the next 2 years of my degree, I am determined to make a difference in the UTS community. By entrusting your confidence in me, I WILL ensure that your university experience is a positive one.

Be part of something greater

I’m passionate about getting involved within my community and being a willing individual who can positively impact the lives of others. It’s why I want to run as your Student Director on the ActivateUTS Board.
As a 1st year IT student, I enjoy playing supportive roles within the wider UTS community and understand the important needs of students first-hand, through volunteering with ActivateUTS’ ‘The Pack’ at major social events and student initiatives, and active participation in club events. In addition, I served as an event ambassador for UTS Open Day 2018 and been involved in the successful running of major cultural events outside uni. These include Australia Day and the Vivid Sydney festival in customer service roles, helping me to significantly appreciate the value of hard work, service and commitment.
Ultimately, I want to represent you and positively enhance our student community experience at UTS.

COMMUNICATIONS (SOCIAL AND POLITICAL SCIENCES)

Having previously been involved in the Student Association as a general councillor, I have come to realise just how important it is for students to work with the university.
The role of ActivateUTS should be to represent students to the University and to administrate student activities. I aim to be a part of this process as I believe that I am able to fulfil the requirements of an ActivateUTS Board Member. I aim to represent the views of students ActivateUTS to the best of my ability by listening to my peers and communicating their concerns and opinions to others on the board. This will ensure that the student body are being heard, that their concerns are being taken on board and that they enjoy their time at UTS.
I am thankful for this opportunity and if elected I will represent my peers to the best of my ability.

BACHELOR OF ENGINNERING (CIVIL AND ENVIRONMENTAL)(HONOURS)
DIPLOMA IN PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING PRACTICE

#JessWeCan(Again)

Hi, my name is Jess Massih and I am the outgoing President of ActivateUTS. After completing my two year term as a Director and implementing a number of strategies, I feel that I have more to give!
As a fourth year engineering student, past executive member for the UTS Engineering Society and past ActivateUTS Director, I have played a leading role in a number of campus activities and ventures.
My time here at university has shown me how great UTS is and the areas in which it can improve. With Building 2 opening soon, I’m hoping to work with ActivateUTS to create a more competitive retail strategy, and more vibrant, #InstaWorthy outlets that cater to students of all needs. I’d also love to expand on my initiatives working on our student leadership programs and digital strategy.
A vote for me is a vote for you.

BACHELOR OF SCIENCE
MAJOR IN NANOTECHNOLOGY

Respond to the call, Vote for Mcfall

I have been a part of the sporting and social life across university from Oztag or touch football. If elected to ActivateUTS, I aim to advocate for more student services such as ATM’s and recommend changes such as ending Eftpos minimums. The goal of my policies is to make UTS a more accessible and convenient campus. We need someone on the Board who understands student needs at a grassroots level and I am that choice.

Jaskaran Singh

Jaskaran Singh

BACHELOR OF MECHATRONICS ENGINEERING (HONOURS)

MAKE UTS GREAT AGAIN

As a highly motivated and dedicated 2nd year student of Bachelor of Mechatronics Engineering [Honors] with strong communication and interpersonal skills, I am running for ActivateUTS Board. Being from an army background, I had the chance to move and stay in many diverse parts of India and experienced almost everything in my life which has added an air of being different from the rest. This has made me smart, self-reliant, highly creative and self-motivated with an ability to think outside the box. My ability and agility to be flexible and to respect other people, their traditions and thinking styles has given me an edge, which has broadened my perspective by adding a new dimension to my horizon which I believe is expected from an idle ActivateUTS Board of Directors. My main focus would be to create a healthy relation between ActivateUTS and UTS societies for the betterment of the students and promote unity in diversity and communal harmony where students from contradistinctive culture, religion, ethnic background, languages, customs and traditions, beliefs, values can study and enjoy to their fullest.

#wewantevenmoore

Hi there! My name is Lydia Watson-Moore, and I’m running to be on the ActivateUTS Board, again! I am almost coming to the end of my term as current Vice President of ActivateUTS, and I’ve had such an amazing time that I’d like to continue on the board and see through some of the great initiatives I’ve started. I’m a fourth year Communications and Law Student, with a few years left to go – I’ve lived in UTS Housing, been a member of many clubs, and always spot out the free food on campus. I know ActivateUTS inside and out, and if you vote me back onto the board, I will continue to deliver stable leadership. Free gym for UTS Housing students? I already helped make that happen. I want to bring more exciting progress on board, and I’d love your vote to help me get there!
