At the UTS Vinnies Society, we believe that a deficiency of compassion breeds an attitude of inaction. Sponsored by both ActivateUTS and the St Vincent de Paul Society, we provide a range of volunteer opportunities including night patrols, brekky van and winter sleepouts, allowing students to give back to the members of the community most in need of support. In doing so, students can engage with the hardships faced by these people, igniting further empathy and change through exposure and education.
Parallel to the values of compassion, respect and charity exacerbated by Vinnies, our society intends to engage with current social justice issues such as homelessness, poverty and racial prejudices. In fighting these inequalities, we will work to transform the causes of these human injustices whilst encouraging spiritual growth, welcoming innovation and giving hope for the future.
Our club aims to foster values of compassion, respect, integrity, empathy and advocacy within the UTS community. By joining our club, we hope you can attain personal fulfilment and satisfaction by helping vulnerable and helpless members of the community, creating change on a collective scale whilst challenging issues of human injustice.
Club memberships are valid until the 31st December of the year of purchase.
Each club is affiliated with ActivateUTS and is bound by the ActivateUTS Clubs Code Of Conduct.
